When life becomes hard to untangle

You don't need to have everything figured out before you come in.

People arrive at therapy for many reasons. Sometimes something has happened. Sometimes the same patterns keep repeating. Sometimes life looks fine from the outside but feels increasingly difficult from within.

Our psychologists create space to understand what you're experiencing, identify what may be keeping you stuck and work with you towards meaningful change.

Closer to home than you might think.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. The process can stay simple.

Our approach

Thoughtful therapy. Grounded in evidence. Shaped around you.

Psychological therapy shouldn't feel like a formula being applied to you.

Our psychologists draw from established therapeutic approaches while paying close attention to the person sitting in front of them — your experiences, relationships, values, culture, strengths and goals.

We aim to understand before we intervene.

Understanding the pattern doesn't mean being defined by it. It gives you somewhere to begin.
Why a collective?

Different perspectives. Shared standards.

No single psychologist is the right fit for every person.

Northside Collective Psychology brings together clinicians with different areas of focus, therapeutic approaches and professional experience while maintaining a shared commitment to thoughtful, ethical and evidence-informed care.

This allows us to consider the person first, then help identify the clinician who may be best suited to what they're looking for.

Common questions

Things people often ask first

No. You can make an appointment directly with us. However, if you'd like to claim a Medicare rebate, you'll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. We can discuss the right path for you when you enquire.

Some clients with an appropriate Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on a number of sessions. Eligibility depends on your individual circumstances and current Medicare arrangements, which can change. We recommend confirming your eligibility with Medicare before your appointment.

Standard individual consultations are 50 minutes. Couples consultations are typically 60 minutes. Your psychologist will discuss what's appropriate for your needs.

Yes. We offer telehealth appointments Australia-wide where clinically and professionally appropriate. Some clients attend entirely by telehealth; others mix in-person and telehealth appointments.

You don't need to decide this alone. When you enquire, tell us a little about what you're looking for and we'll help identify the psychologist who may be the best fit. You can also read our psychologist profiles to get a sense of who you might connect with.

The first appointment is a conversation. Your psychologist will want to understand what's bringing you in, what you'd like to be different, and what you already know about yourself in relation to it. You set the pace — you won't be asked for a detailed history or a diagnosis.

We welcome enquiries from NDIS participants or their representatives. We can discuss whether our services are a suitable fit for your plan and goals when you contact us.

Northside Collective Psychology is not a crisis or emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call Triple Zero (000). For urgent mental health support, please contact an appropriate Australian crisis service or attend your nearest hospital emergency department. Our crisis support page lists relevant services.
